"One of the oldest buildings in Transcarpathia - the Nevytsky castle of the 13th century, which the state of Ukraine does not care for!" - another warning bell from the tourism expert Oleksandr Koval.

As you know, the most ardent champion of this building, archaeologist Oleksandr Dzembas regularly reminds about the destruction of this place of interest. Until recently, he, along with volunteers, has been trying to fight the rubbish not so much in the neighborhoods of the Nevytsky castle as in bureaucratic souls. Now he can only remind...

Last year, local deputies attempted to, at least, somehow address the problem. However, whether because of the situation in the country, or the habit to leave things half-way, but there has been no significant progress.

Nowadays, Oleksandr Koval is trying to draw attention to the main attraction of Transcarpathia, identifying one of the main problems: "It is not in the State register of monuments of architecture! The surrounding area is being built up and destroyed."

Will there be any changes? According to the comments to Mr. Koval's post, few people believe in it. Especially since the situation in the country gives more reasons to "brush off." Meanwhile, the Nevytsky castle remains the first in the ranking of must-see places during the tourist voyages in Transcarpathia...
