The era of cheap alcohol and tobacco products for Transcarpathians is over

This was announced during the conversation with journalists of the "Tisa-1" channel by Erica Danch, the deputy head of the excise goods circulation and taxation control department of the Main Office of SFS in Transcarpathian region.

- As the practice of developed European countries show, the excise tax may be one of the influential financial instruments of ensuring revenues to the state budget of Ukraine. In our country this tax rate is much lower than that in the European Union, however, in accordance with the rules of the agreement "On the association between Ukraine and the EU", it is provided that Ukrainian tax model is to be gradually brought in line with the structure of modern taxation in the EU - the expert says.

According to Erica Danch, excisable products are: ethanol, alcohol, beer, tobacco products, tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes, petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas, cars and so on. This is a group of products that are popular with consumers, regardless of the price, but typically they cause damage to health, so their taxation is important not only for revenues to the state budget, but also for ensuring the health of the nation.

As of January 1, 2015, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduces a new model of the excise tax stamp for alcohol and tobacco products, both domestic and imported. However, the cost of excise stamps on alcohol products shall be decreased to 0.1926 UAH / pc. from 0.27 UAH / pc., and on tobacco - to 0.091 UAH / pc. from 0,142 UAH / pc. - Erica Danch emphasized.
