The Coordinating Board of Investors will be established in Transcarpathia

Today in the regional center, there was a meeting with investors and the authorities of the region, which dealt with the real situation and prospects of foreign trade and investments in Transcarpathian region.  The head of the RSA Vasyl Hubal and the Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko participated in the meeting.

Overall, 48 countries have invested nearly 374 million U.S. dollars in the economy of Transcarpathia. There are 759 enterprises with foreign investments in the region, 45% of which are concentrated in the industrial sector. In the first nine months of this year, these companies have sold products worth over 5 billion hryvnia, which is 69% of the total sales in the region. EU countries have invested 264 million U.S. dollars of FDI representing 70.6% of the total amount. 78.9% of investments are attracted in the industry. In terms of foreign direct investment per capita, Transcarpathia ranks 13th in the country (298.5 U.S. dollars).

The priority investment project in Transcarpathian region is the "Solomonovo" Industrial Park. The conceptual idea of the project is a high-tech engineering area to accommodate facilities for production of cars and car parts and assemblies. In Khust, they plan to establish an industrial park "Narcissus", where pharmacology, cosmetology, wild berries processing industries are to be concentrated.
