The best book of the year was written by a Transcarpathian

On December 24th, the Sports Journalists Association summed up the year 2014 and awarded the best sports journalists. One of the winners is the Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of Journalism Volodymyr Tarasyuk. His book, "The development of sport in Transcarpathia in independent Ukraine" won in the category "Best Sports Book of the Year", the Media Cemter of UzhNU informs.

This victory for Mr. Tarasyuk was a complete surprise, because the book was published back in 2011. But, with the active support of Kyiv Sports Journalists Association, it became the winner in 2014.

According to the president of the Association of Sports Journalists of Ukraine Mykhailo Volobuev, the book by Volodymyr Tarasyuk is the first research of the sporting life in the region over twenty years.
Mr. Volodymyr says that the book is a landmark in his life: "This book is certainly a landmark because it requires great responsibility. It was necessary to compile and organize material for twenty years in a rather sporting region of Ukraine.  About 120 sports are developing here. I was afraid to miss anything, because the head of the sport federation can forget, and I had to find everything."
