Children were actively participating in the charity event. They organized special fairs of handmade and pastries and collected 7 great New Year and Christmas gifts for their peers who currently live in the East.
- Charity for our school is a daily business. For about 8 years, our volunteer groups have been helping children from disadvantaged families and elderly people. All that, only on the initiative of students. This time high school students approached me to allow them to conduct a fair, where they can sell their crafts and baked goods, and the proceeds would be used to help soldiers. They saw on the internet that similar events were held in Kharkiv and Kyiv. We agreed. Every day, during the long break, one form would make a small fair. The result was unexpected. For the first day alone, the children managed to collect 694 hryvnia - the director of the school Nadia Legeza said.
Then, younger students joined the high school students. Everyone wanted to help with whatever they could. Of course, parents of the students were actively working too. In total, eleven forms, that participated in the fair, collected 7,094 hryvnia. They want these funds to be used for the purchase of thermal imager for Transcarpathian soldiers.
- After the fairs, students came up to me and asked if they could write letters on St. Nicholas Day to those children who are now living in the ATO area. This was only the beginning. We talked to Mukachevo volunteers and they told us that it was possible to deliver not only letters but also gifts to 7 children from the East. We were glad to do it - Ms. Nadia says.
According to teachers, students packed gifts for their peers with great love and affection. Parents and children were very actively participating in the campaign. Moreover, they planned a similar one for Christmas and New Year.
