On Friday, December 19, on Narodna Square, the holiday season was officially started – the regional Christmas tree was lit.
Traditionally, the event was attended by more than 450 children – from all district of the region. The entertainment was organized for them, which included a solemn event, a play, fun contests and gala dinner.The culmination of the event was the ignition of lights on the Christmas tree in the lobby of the RSA building, which combined festive and formal aspects.
Children were welcomed by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Vasyl Hubal and the Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko.
Then, after a friendly and loud invitation, the Cristmas tree was lit shone – by the way, in blue and gold colors in tune with the national flag. After that, the holiday entertainment for children from artists of the Transcarpathian Regional Puppet Theater "Bavka" continued.
And the main Christmas tree in Transcarpathia, which adorns Narodna Square and also pleases with patriotic colors, will start flashing with lights at night – when it gets dark – and thus finally affirm: the holiday season is open!
