The statement of the Public Convention regarding Uzhgorod City Council

Due to recent developments in the city, the Public Convention of Uzhgorod Euromaidan distributed the following statement.

"Statement of the Public Convention
regarding tomorrow’s session of Uzhgorod City Council

 At the time when Putin’s fascist regime continues war against Ukraine, when dozens of the best sons and daughters of our people are dying every day, in Uzhgorod, backroom games continue with the aim to seize power to further plunder our town.

 The former Mayor Pogorelov, the Party of Regions members and time-servers of all kinds at tomorrow’s session are going to put in the chair of the City Council Secretary – Acting Mayor an odious Party of Regions member, minion of Ledyda and Pogorelov – Victor Feyer!

 Despite the fact that the current Acting Mayor, to say the least, is not admirable, we firmly believe that now is not the time for showdowns, substitution of one Acting Mayor for another one and destabilization of the situation in the city. 

 We urge all conscious Uzhgorod residents to come tomorrow at the session and prevent the return of the Party of Regions.

 PS. For half a year Uzhgorod has been without the mayor, and the deputies of the city council have become completely discredited. The vast majority of deputies deservedly only disgust the people.

 Uzhgorod, as well as Transcarpathia, needs early local elections – complete cleansing and renewal of the local goverment!" – the statement reads.
