The Right Sector of Transcarpathia on the night shooting in Uzhgorod

The Right Sector of Transcarpathia provides official information on the night events in front of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region that occurred on Thursday, August 7, 2014. 

"The management of the Right Sector has never been and is not involved in such illegal incidents. Our soldiers and commanders are now actively protecting the integrity and sovereignty of our country in the East. The only exceptions are those who have a short rest between rotations or are being treated for their injuries. According to our sources, one of those men, who was in rehabilitation after severe concussion received in battle, may have been a passive participant in the incident.

The statement that one of the participants in the events was "one of the leaders" of the Right Sector is untrue. Bohdan Pylypiv, whom they try to present as one of the leaders of the RS, for a long time has had nothing to do with our organization. More than two months before the events he had been deprived of the position and excluded from the organization for violation of discipline. As we can see now, it was the right decision, which confirmed our ability for internal lustration, unlike the government, especially law enforcement, agencies.

All our members and commanders have primary tasks of protecting our homeland in the east, at the time when the above-mentioned citizens allow themselves to commit such illegal actions or even provocations leading to destabilization of the already tense situation in the region. 

It is a shame that while we are defending Ukraine, there are shots next to our homes. Therefore, we do not have any reaction to these events other than outrage and condemnation,.

We appeal to the police demanding to establish all the circumstances and severely punish the perpetrators of these events. Also, we ask not to disseminate inaccurate and unreliable information and dirty insinuations about our organization.
