Members of the youth organization of the Transcarpathian Association of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine reported in the "Uzhgorod" gallery. Almost fifty works by twenty young artists were presented for the consideration of the audience.

Portraits, still lifes and landscapes are the main genres that can be seen in paintings on the walls of the gallery. In addition to the paintings, the exhibition features graphics.

The opening was attended by famous Transcarpathian artists, including the People's Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Mykyta.

He noted that he was pleased that artists create, regardless of the financial state of the association. "Such exhibitions are needed for young people to find themselves. They have opportunity to experiment. This association is a good start for acceptance to the Union of Artists in the future", - Volodymyr Mykyta said.

In turn, the head of the Transcarpathian National Union of Artists of Ukraine Boris Kuzma said that despite some very good works, there were also those of a lower quality.

The deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Andriy Serbaylo, who also addressed young Transcarpathian artists, noted that the criticism about low quality of some members' work should encourage them to work on themselves. He added that in general, the works of the newly opened exhibition suggest that our Transcarpathian school has a future.

The head of the Culture Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yuriy Hleba, in turn, said that in the gallery we can see how different young people of our land are in their perception of the world.  "The quality indeed differs from painting to painting, but only in creative communication and comparison, you can see what needs to be improved. Overall, the exhibition pleases with their vision, perception and reproduction of this on canvas."

As the association chairman Petro Svalyavchyk summarized, 10 new members were accepted in the ranks of the organization. Instead, some dropped out because of their age (over 35). In total, the association, by the way, has 22 members. He advised the members of the organization to focus more on national exhibitions, to look, to compare and, if possible, to take part in them.

The exhibition will last two weeks.
