In Mukachevo district, a younger brother murdered an elder one

A paramedic from the village of Kolchino reported to Mukachevo city police that he had stated the death of a young man.

The investigative team at the scene of crime found out that the victim, a 21-year-old resident of the village of Kolchino, had been found dead in his own yard by his sister, with whom he lived together. During a cursory examination of the body of the deceased, the police officers found the injuries in the form of dissected wounds of an eyebrow, nose bridge, palm, and a penetrating injury of the left scapula. The body of the deceased was sent to the morgue of Mukachevo CDH to determine the cause of death. The nature of the injuries gave reason to believe that someone had helped the man to die.

During the conducted search operations, officers of the Criminal Investigation Police in Transcarpathian region established that the younger brother of the deceased was suspected in the commission of the criminal offense.

Within several hours, the police detained the 19-year-old boy. He says he did not intend to kill his brother. The guy said that that night there was a verbal conflict between them, which later turned into a fight, after which he took a knife and hit his brother. After the conflict, they parted, and in the morning he learned that his brother had died.

The incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations. At this time, all necessary investigative measures in this case are being taken, the issue of pretrial restraint against the suspect is being decided, the senior investigator of the city police investigation department Hanna Zvonar commented. The criminal proceeding over this fact has been opened under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (grievous bodily injury that caused the victim's death), the sanction of the Article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
