August 29, at 18.00, at the "Delizia" pizzeria, located on Svoboda Avenue, there will be a master class on making amulet ragdolls. The admission is free, organizers expect guests with families.
Ragdolls do not have arms, legs and torso. Only the head is clearly defined. The face is "empty" or with a cross embroidered with colorful threads so that a square is formed in the middle.According to researchers, ragdolls are not for playing. They were associated with the rite of fertility and procreation.
Ragdoll probably was used in the agricultural cult. O. Naiden notes that the word "kukla" (doll) referred to a wad of ears, which was left at the edge of the field and decorated with colorful ribbons. It was used in rituals dedicated to the future harvest.
Today the making of such dolls helps men fighting in the ATO, because at the Art Field during the festival, ragdolls, that will be left with the organizers, will be sold for the purposes of humanitarian aid to soldiers in the East.
