A criminal proceeding has been opened against the victim for false testimony in court

The Prosecutor of the city of Mukachevo initiated pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 384 of the CC of Ukraine for false testimony by the victim.

August 21, 2014, during the court consideration of the indictment act concerning a citizen M for theft and involvement of minors in criminal activity, the victim, being warned about criminal liability for perjury, in order to justify the accused, told the court completely inaccurate information about facts and circumstances that were important to the proceedings.

However, last year, the same victim during the trial in the same criminal proceedings testified to the court that this defendant had abetted him, a then minor, to commit a theft and had taken away the stolen goods as debt repayment.

The Prosecutor of the city of Mukachevo forwared the aforesaid criminal proceedings by investigative jurisdicton to the Chief of the Investigation Department of Mukachevo City Police for preliminary investigation. The course of the preliminary investigation is taken under control.
