6 tons of metal of unknown origin was detained by traffic inspectors in Transcarpathia.
Since the beginning of the month, traffic inspectors in Transcarpathia have revealed 12 facts of transportation of metal without any documents totaling more than 6 tons.
Within just one day, April 11, in Khust district, traffic police inspectors revealed 6 facts, and in Tyachiv district - 3 more facts of transportation of metal. They are all very similar. Scrap metal was transported mainly by cars VAZ and GAZ in makeshift trailers without license plates in an amount of 250 to 1100 kg and, of course, without any documents. In six of the nine cases, vehicle drivers did not even have registration documents for the vehicles and driving licenses.
All vehicles were delivered to impound lots, and police officers are establishing the origin of the black scrap metal - the Traffice Police Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region informed.
Representatives of NGOs, which recently partnered with the traffic police, told Uzhgorod.in that the information on trailers with metal was provided by community, namely by activists of the "Road Control", who were also present during detention. This organization and the Transcarpathian Automaidan are glad that there is the result. They hope, firstly, that this is only the beginning of the joint activity with the traffic police, and, secondly, that law enforcement agencies will really have a will and ability to stop these and other violations.
