Transcarpathia is establishing cross-border cooperation with Romania

On Tuesday, April 8, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration made a working visit to Romania. During the bilateral meeting, they discussed the cross-border project "System of rapid response in emergency situations."  In the Ukrainian party, the event was attended, in addition to Valeriy Lunchenko, the Consul General of Ukraine in Suceava Vasyl Boyechko, the director of housing and communal services, construction and infrastructure department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Victor Lukecha, village heads of Bila Tserkva and Verkhnye Vodyane in Tyachiv district, and others. In the Romanian party, the event was attended by the Consul General of Romania to Ukraine in Chernivtsi Eleonora Moldovan, the prefect of the Maramures Anton Rokhyan, the head of the town of Moysey Toader Shtetsku and other members of the elite.
 
 

Close cooperation between neighboring countries was launched on March 21 this year at the international meeting in Transcarpathia.  The initiated cross-border project "System of Rapid Response in Emergency Situations" is funded by ENPI cross-border cooperation program between Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine.  This project is being implemented in the village of Moysey, in the county of Maramures in Romania and in Serednye Vodyane in Rakhiv district with representatives from Romania and Ukraine. The project involves the purchase of ambulances, fire trucks and snowplows. The total cost of the work is over 490,000 euros. The Ukrainian party plans to receive about 140,000 euros. 

 – Economic and cultural communication should be the prerogative of our relations, – the head of Transcarpathia said.  Ukrainian government, including Transcarpathian authorities, will make every effort in order to implement new projects as well as to complete already initiated ones, irrespective of the political, economic and social situation in Ukraine. 

 During the meeting it was decided to establish working groups on both sides to prepare proposals for the coordination and implementation of joint initiatives.
