Mobile X-ray station examines residents of Uzhgorod districts for tuberculosis

For the third consecutive year, residents of villages in Uzhgorod districts have been undergoing x-ray examination directly at the place of residence.These days the bus with x-ray equipment came to residents of Ruski Komarivtsi, Nyzhnye Solotvyno and Holmtsi. Villagers note the convenience of this examination, there is no need to go to the regional center, stand in line at the hospital.

According to the family physician with twenty years experience, the head of the family medicine outpatient clinic in the village of Ruski Komarivtsi Marta Buletsa, prevention is the key to timely detection of disease, and therefore fast recovery. The doctor and her colleague take care of more than three and a half thousand villagers. Doctors have to find personal approach to each of them, to explain the importance of checkups.

This area is also densely inhabited by the Roma community. Doctors in cooperation with the Roma community leader Fedir Lakatos convince Roma to take care about their own health. Last year, during fluorography examination, a 38-year-old Roma was diagnosed with tuberculosis. The man is being treated now, and according to doctors, is very responsible about his health.

Overall, in the villages, served by the Ruski Komarivtsi family clinic, there are 19 people, who once have been ill with tuberculosis. Among them, there is a woman who was diagnosed with complex MDR case. However, due to timely diagnosis and treatment, tuberculosis was cured. Now all those people are healthy and only undergo yearly checkups.
