Lunchenko has not handed over his parliamentary mandate (document)

As of Friday, the parliament has not received the statement of the People’s Deputy Valeriy Lunchenko on resignation from his parliamentary seat. This was reported by the Secretariat of the Committee on Rules, Ethics and Support of Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the request of the correspondent of uzhgorod.in.

On Monday, during the press conference, MP of Ukraine, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Valeriy Lunchekno said that he had "time to think until April 6, when the statement must be registered in the Verkhovna Rada."

According to Article 78 of the Constitution of Ukraine, MPs cannot concurrently hold the position of a deputy and other paid position, except for teaching, research and creative work.

In the event of circumstances that breach the incompatibility of a deputy’s mandate with other activities, a deputy of Ukraine within twenty days from the date of such circumstances shall terminate such activities or submit a statement of resignation from the position of People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
