Another attempt to cause troubles between Transcarpathians
In connection with the publications in some media, which report about the alleged pressure on Transcarpathian Hungarians exerted by prosecutors, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office explains that the Prosecutors of Transcarpathian region are studying possible risks of corruption in the activity of public officials, in this case - employees of Driver Licensing Office. While studying this issue, prosecutors conducted interviews with some individuals.
While doing this, they did not exert any pressure on those persons. The question of refusal to issue or cancellation of driver's licenses for citizens of Ukraine, who do not speak the state language at adequate level, was not raised and no documents for response on this issue were submitted.
It is known that certain regional media today, April 24, issued a statement of a "patriotic and educational organization "Croton", which referred to the alleged violation of the rights of Hungarian population which is exposed to moral pressure by prosecutors. The text of the statement clearly hints that such intolerant, not inherent to Transcarpathians treatment of minority rights is initiated by the management of the General Prosecutor's Office and the regional prosecutor's office, because of their Galician origin.
