Transcarpathian students do not revere the holiday of the Russian Empress (POLL)

There are two days in a year when students can celebrate their "Professional Day" - November 17, the International Day of Students and January 25, the Day of Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian Students, better known to the public as Tatiana's Day.

The latter holiday hails from St. Petersburg, but for a long time, it was celebrated only in Moscow. On Tatiana's Day, January 12 (25 according to the Gregorian calendar), 1755, the Empress granted a request by Count Ivan Shuvalov on the opening of the university in Moscow and signed the corresponding decree. Thus Great Martyr Tatiana became the patroness of students. asked whether Transcarpathians have traditions of celebration of the Students' Day on January 25.
Gabriella Rudenko, a student of Journalism department of UzhNU:

- Somehow, our group have no tradition of celebrating the Day of Students. In previous years it was an ordinary day, busy with training, and now we're all having our internship and do not have the opportunity to get together.
Overall, we celebrate the one on November 17.
Natalia Krytovych, a graduate student of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv.
Last year we did not celebrate. This year we are going to celebrate, but just because our reunion "fell" on January 25. Usually we only celebrate Students' Day on November 17.
Khrystyna Lendyel, a student of UzhNU and TSU:
- From the 1st to the 3rd year my friends and I always have celebrated both Students' days. Now the interest is gone. I remember how it was interesting - we gathered in loud companies, had fun. However, I believe you can meet with friends anytime, this is not a problem.
Yulia Baraban, the Advisor to the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration on youth policy, as well as a representative of Transcarpathia in student council at MESYS:
- In general, our students have never been made to celebrate Tatiana's Day. Usually students celebrate their day on November 17, and, in my opinion, one "professional holiday" for us is quite enough. However, students are always willing to get together, go to a party, especially if there is an official excuse :). So even despite these lingering winter holidays, I am sure that the majority of young people will figure out how to celebrate this holiday.

День заснування Московського університету святкувати в Закарпатті? Це нагадало мені анекдот як приклад мислення пересічного росіянина: Десять років живу у Нью-Йорку, а поліцейський на розі досі не навчився говорити по-російськи.
