The EU introduced new rules for carrying currency

On January 1, in the European Union new rules for carrying currency took effect. This was reported by the European Radio. As of January 1, throughout the EU the unified form of customs declaration has been introduced.
From now on, upon arrival to and departure from the territory of the EU. a citizen who is carrying more than 10,000 euros must submit a customs declaration twice - both when importing and exporting the funds. Not only cash in euros, but also the equivalent in any other currency and securities must be declared.
What is important is that the rule is also applied when traveling through EU countries. New measures are attributed to the fight against crime and terrorism. If in the declaration false or incomplete information is indicated, the applicant may be punished, and money can be confiscated.
