In Transcarpathia, spring came in the middle of winter. From the Mediterranean

An unusually warm for mid-winter weather in Uzhgorod prevailed today, January 21. Although in the morning the city was watered by the rain, the air was warm. Some of Uzhgorod residents, especially girls, have even managed to get dressed in the spring fashion.
However, the current weather is not some anomaly – Transcarpathian Regional Meteorological Office forecaster Andriy Zolotaryov told uzhgorod.in. Over the past 10 years, winter temperature in Transcarpathia has been 2-3 degrees higher than the norm.
As for the current warm weather in Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia in general, Andriy Zolotaryov informed that it is caused by the coming Balkan cyclone and warm air masses from the Mediterranean Sea.
By the way, this day, the highest temperature in the regional center was recorded at 9 degrees in 2007. Instead, the lowest was in 1964 – 22 degrees below zero.
According to the weathermen, this temperature in Uzhgorod will last until tomorrow, and after January 23, it will gradually decline.
So it is not recommended to put winter clothing away.
