132,000 UAH worth of trees was cut near the "Pidzamkovy" park
According to environmental inspection in the Transcarpathian region, the damage caused by illegal logging near the "Pidzamkovy" park in Uzhgorod amounts to 132,000 UAH.
This was announced today during a briefing by the head of the State Ecological Inspectorate in the Transcarpathian region Serhiy Rishko.
At the request of local residents regarding tree cutting, environmental inspection carried out appropriate checks. According to the results, it was found out that 39 trees in the park had been cut down and another 8 had been damaged. Thus, the findings of the environmental inspectorate were sent to police officers, now the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region will deal with the fact of illegal logging.
Also according to the results of the investigation into the felling of trees in the Bozdosh park, environmentalists discovered illegal felling of six plane trees as well as several oaks and poplars. Losses caused by illegal logging previously made over 44,000 UAH.
