The court will consider illegal actions during the privatization of the “Crown”

Investigative Department of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding initiated over illegal actions of officials of the Municipal Economy Department of Uzhgorod City Council, ME "BTI of Uzhgorod" and the company, which conducted assessment of the hotel and restaurant complex "Crown" during its privatization.

Currently, officers of the ME "BTI of Uzhgorod" and the appraiser company have been notified of the suspicion of a crime under Part 1 of Article  367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligence) and Part 1 of Article 357 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft, embezzlement, extortion of documents, stamps, seals, obtaining them by fraud or malpractice or damaging thereof) and the indictment against said officials with plea of ​​guilt has been sent to court.Also, we inform you that the investigating prosecutor of Uzhgorod, in the course of the investigation of the criminal case against officials of one of the companies of the region, on August 2012 seized the community property, at: Uzhgorod, Teatralna sq., 5, 7 – the hotel and restaurant complex "Crown".Further, due to the enactment of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the information about those offenses was registered in the URPI and, following the results of the preliminary investigation, the criminal proceeding with the indictment was forwarded to court.In August this year, the trial of the criminal proceeding was completed. According to the decision made by the court, which came into force, the perpetrators were convicted and the seizure, imposed by the investigating prosecutor of Uzhgorod, was canceled.   Thus, the relevant information was registered in the State Register of Rights to Immovable Property and the encumbrance was canceled.
