The chief health official of the region is not happy about Pogorelov's plans

The Head of the Health Department of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Roman Shnitser is not excited about the plans of Uzhgorod authorities to make money on patients from outside Uzhgorod. He made it clear during the recording of the program on the Tisa-1 TV channel.

"The proportion of Uzhgorod residents in the total population of Transcarpathia is about 8%.At the same time, they constitute 14-16% of patients in regional hospitals. Who and to whom should repay the cost?" - he commented on the local government innovations.

"It seems to me that this situation confirms the old rule of thumb: he who is screaming the loudest is not the one who is being robbed but the one who steals himself!", - Roman Shnitser concluded and added that they must remember and follow the requirements of the Constitution on the right of patients to choose a hospital where they want to be treated.

Recall, this weekend regional media published the information that Uzhgorod city authorities intended to prohibit the city medical institutions to serve patients from districts without proper medical referrals from physicians.
