Tax police of Transcarpathia have recorded nearly 100 criminal offenses

Nearly 100 criminal offenses - such is the result of the work of the tax police in Transcarpathia in 8 months. According to the site of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region, this amount of offenses has been registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations. Of those, 43 offenses are tax evasions.

The priorities of the work are prevention of VAT frauds and the transfer of illegal funds to offshore zones and countries with preferential tax treatment, inspection of enterprises of the real sector of the economy - users of "conversion center" services, counteracting embezzlement of budget funds and their legalization, combating tax crimes using high information technologies and illicit trafficking of excisable goods.

In January-August 2013, the operational department revealed two criminal offenses concerning legalization of proceeds from crime and thirteen criminal offenses relating to public procurement. 4 criminal offenses are related to use of advanced technology, including 3 crimes concerning tax evasion in a large scale.

During this time, the investigators have completed and referred to the court proceedings on 36 criminal offenses, including 16 - for tax evasion.
