Kovacs efforts were futile: the Cabinet did not give Uzhgorod the money for the celebration

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has not allocated money to Transcarpathian regional center to celebrate its 1120th anniversary. This was announced today, September 4, by the mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Pogorelov.

Recall that in early July, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution "On the celebration of the 1120th anniversary of the founding of Uzhgorod." According to the document, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, among other things, was recommended to consider the issue of financial and logistical support of events to celebrate the anniversary of Uzhgorod.

The author of the resolution is Uzhgorod deputy, Party of Regions member Vasyl Kovacs. Apparently, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has ignored the recommendation of the Parliament, developed by the deputy from Uzhgorod, 68th constituency.
