During 8 months, Chop Customs cleared for crossing more than 1,837,000 cars
Owners of those cars crossed the border at the crossing points through the "green corridor". In Ukraine there is a two-channel system of the customs checkpoint crossing - this is a simplified customs control system, which gives citizens the opportunity to declare by selecting one of the two channels for crossing customs border of Ukraine.
The choice of the "green corridor" is a statement of the citizen that the goods carried by him or her across the customs border of Ukraine are not subject to written declaration, customs tax payments, statutory prohibition or restriction on importation into the customs territory of Ukraine or export from this territory, and is the evidence of the facts of legal significance. Persons who pass through the "green corridor" are exempt from submitting a written customs declaration. Exemption from filing a written customs declaration does not constitute an exemption from observance of the procedure for carrying goods across the customs border of Ukraine.
The channel marked with red color ("red corridor") is intended for all other citizens. The choice of the "red corridor" is a statement of the citizen that the goods carried by him or her across the customs border of Ukraine are subject to a written declaration.
Chop customs experts point out that citizens have an opportunity to choose the lane for customs clearance. If a citizen has mistakenly chosen the "green corridor", he or she must inform the customs officer about it before customs formalities. Then the vehicle will be transferred to the "red corridor" where the standard procedure of declaration will be held.
If a person who undergoes customs procedures in the "green corridor" will be found carrying goods that are subject to a written declaration, customs duties payment or the prohibitions established by law, an inspector draws up a protocol on violation of customs regulations, - the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region reported.
