Bishop Ivan Marhitych will be commemorated on this Friday

The commemoration of Bishop Ivan Marhitych will be held on September 6, at the Uzhgorod Greek Catholic Theological Academy of Theodore Romzha, at 16.00.

This year it will be 10 years since the death of the bishop, who was one of the most active priests in the underground during the Soviet era, he began to fight for the legalization of the Greek-Catholic Church (despite illness, until his death he traveled around parishes of the region, and died in 2003 during the sermon in the village of Pylypets in Mizhhirya district).

During the memorial event, there will be a prayer in the seminary church, and all comers will share memories about the bishop.

Today, the 5th of September, Bishop I.Marhitych will be commemorated in Rakhiv in the district House of Culture. The commemoration will begin at 16.00.
