At Chop Customs, a car worth over 500,000 UAH was confiscated

This is the second case in the last few days.

In this case, a citizen of Slovakia driving a car "BMW X5 XDRIVE35d" was heading from the Slovak Republic to Ukraine. To cross the Ukrainian border, he chose the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" of the Chop customs.

The Slovaks presented to customs officers the registration certificate for the vehicle. However, officers of the Chop customs had suspicions about the integrity of the identification number of the body, namely the possibility of mechanical changes to it.

In accordance with Article 327 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, an expert was engaged to the customs control of the said car. During the customs inspection, the examination revealed that the original identification number had been removed, and another one was applied instead.

These actions are signs of violation of customs regulations under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, therefore, under Article 511 of the Code, the object of violation was temporarily confiscated.
