Chop customs officers prevented attempted illegal transportation of ancient coins across the customs border of Ukraine.About 300 coins were carried by our compatriots in a van "Mercedes Benz". The citizen arrived to the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop customs on his way from England to Ukraine. He chose the "red corridor" lane of border crossing. He did not report that he was carrying coins either in oral or in writing.During the customs control of the van and luggage, the inspectors found coins of various denominations hidden from customs control. They were in a cardboard box wrapped in paper and duct tape. Collectible value and age of coins will be determined by a special expertise.According to preliminary legal classification, that act may contain elements of a crime, according to Art. 201 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region reported.
