Water supply networks in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo will be improved

Uzhgorod and Mukachevo won a grant for improvement of water supply networks. This was announced by Yosyp Halayda, the Director of Beregovo enterprise "Vodokanal Karpatviz," a participant of the international scientific conference, which was held in the framework of European integration based on the experience of water and sanitation company "Nirshyihviz."

In an interview, Mr. Halayda said the following:

"I should say that Uzhgorod and Mukachevo perhaps will be the first to feel the opportunity for qualitative changes in their work.

Because recently they, along with the Hungarian partner, won the European grant for 264 thousand euros. The project is entitled "Development of environmental protection through assessment of existing water and wastewater treatment systems."

With the help of the grant from the European Union, those companies and existing utilities in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo will be carefully inspected, the documentation for the reconstruction of the network will be prepared to ensure permanent water supply in these cities. Because now in the largest cities of Transcarpathia, water is supplied on schedule.

There will also be a set of measures developed to help attract investors in the field of water supply in order to ultimately significantly improve the quality of the services and drinking water.

It should also be noted that the implementation of this project took two years and it all started with the trip to Nyíregyháza of the delegation of Transcarpathian mayors headed by the Regional Council Chairman Ivan Baloha."
