Two baby bears came to the rehabilitation center in the National Park "Synevyr" at different times and under different circumstances.
The first bear was rescued from dogs in the woods by a boy from the village of Tarasivka in Tyachiv district. He gave the bear to the center in April, when he was only a few months old. The second bear was voluntarily given in September by the owner from Uzhgorod district. "Upon admission to the center, the bears weighed about 3.5 kg, and through a balanced diet, vitamin and some veterinary and sanitary measures, their weight has increased ten times, it proves a good adaptability and resilience of small animals as they rarely survive without a mother" - the veterinarian of the center says.
Originally, the bears lived in a cage with a partition, because the newcomer reacted aggressively to the approaching of the other bear. But eventually, they became friends and learned to play together. Now, they will learn to live together with adult bears.
The Director of the National Park "Synevyr" Mykola Derbak said: "The aim of the rehabilitation center is to return bears their natural instincts, to create close to natural conditions of stay in the center. In order to be with other bears in a large cage, they have to learn to live together. Now, we have 6 bears living there, and it is a good result."
