Today, at the session, they will try to protect green areas of Uzhgorod. If the draft decision is put for consideration (document)

At the today’s City Council session, there will be the second consideration of the draft decision "On the suspension of provision of land plots from the adjoining area lands defined by the decision of the executive committee of Uzhgorod City Council number 480 dd. 19.12.2012" – human rights activist Vitaly Gregor said.

In his facebook, he wrote: "The draft decision was submitted by opposition deputies Vasyl Hnatkiv, Pavlo Chuchka and Victor Shchadey at the previous session, on September 20, 2013. However, the Deputy Mayor Yuriy Belyakov proposed to send the draft decision for review, deputies supported this proposition, and the Mayor instructed the land department to review the draft decision and submit it at the next session, ie today.

October 18, at the meeting of the parliamentary committee on tourism and international cooperation of Uzhgorod City Council (Chairman – Chuchka P.), which I also attended, the deputies asked the head of the department of land relations regulation Igor Kutsenko, "why is our revised draft decision on the adjoining areas not there among the draft decisions submitted to this session of the Council?". To which I.Kutsenko answered that the mayor had not given such order to the land department. 

 However, the resistance of the City Council did not stop there, since it is clear that this decision is very "uncomfortable" for them. Thus, yesterday, October 23, at the Uzhgorod city council, deputies V.Hnatkiv and P.Chuchka were informed that the draft decision needed significant changes. 
   
 I think this is a consequence of the illegal instructions of the mayor Pogorelov and his deputy Belyakov, that they have given to the legal, land and other departments, namely, to pick on "commas, dots, dashes, paragraphs, spacing, size and type of fonts" and to delay the approval of the draft decision, in order to, as they say, "kill" the opposition deputies’ desire to submit other draft decisions. 

 The deputies have not ignored this outrage and intend to demand at the session to reprimand heads of relevant departments of Uzhgorod City Council. And also to bring to disciplinary responsibility the Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod in charge of land issues, Yuriy Belyakov, who did not provide adequate control and coordination of subordinate departments."
