The dream of the EU for eight illegal immigrants did not come true

Last weekend, Chop border guards detained two more groups of "happiness seekers" who were trying to illegally get to the the EU.

In the first case, due to promptly taken measures, in Perechyn district, border guards detained a group of people who were moving by car towards the Ukrainian-Slovak border. Of the six people who were in the vehicle, only the driver, a citizen of Syria, had a document that confirmed his identity and gave the right to permanent residence in Ukraine. Other five, including a minor boy, were not able to provide law enforcement officers any documents and reported that they were the driver's compatriots. The fact of a crime under Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was informed to the office of the Security Service Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.

Other brave souls that were heading towards Slovakia through the mountains and were detained by border guards of "Velyky Berezny" unit proved to be a family with a one-year-old son. The man and the woman, who did not have any documents, told border guards that they were a married couple, originally from Afghanistan.

All offenders were brought to the border units to determine the circumstances of the offense and make administrative and procedural documents. The decision on the further fate of the detainees will be determine by court.
