Slovakia returned two Transcarpathian prisoners

This week Slovak customs officials detained a consignment of tobacco smuggling from Ukraine - more than 600,000 cigarettes that were transported across the border by two Transcarpathians. The estimated value of the seized contraband is about 81,000 euros.

It was seized by customs officials during the inspection of the house in the village of Slepkovce, which is 35 kilometers from the border.  In the house, they arrested four smugglers who were loading cigarettes into the car, which they were going to drive to the Czech Republic in. One of the cars had already been loaded with 400,000 cigarettes. All detainees admitted their guilt. Among them, there are two Transcarpathians - Yuri S. and Sviatoslav B. who had transported cigarette across Ukrainian-Slovakian border. Two Slovaks were sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, the Ukrainians, after short sentence, were handed to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
