Policemen are summoned to Uzhgorod court

The police officers, who arrested journalist Tomas Tomas on October 5 on Narodna Square, must come to court to explain the situation. This was announced today, October 22, by the Judge Konstantsiya Bentsa.

As you know, Tomas Tomas is charged under Article 185 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative violations - persistent failure to obey the lawful demands of the police.

In the court Tomas Tomas explained that October 5 he was on the square as a freelance journalist of the newspaper "Svoboda". Instead, the police put him in the car when he came to ask, what the other participant of the events was detained for.

After hearing the explanation of Thomas, the judge decided to summon the policemen to the court.

Tomas Tomas was in the court without a lawyer, he refused an offer of the judge to give him a counsel at public expense.

At the time of the hearing, in the building of the district court there was no electricity.

The next session in the case of Tomas Tomas will be held on Thursday, October 24, at 16.00.

On the same day, at 08.30, the Chief Justice Vyacheslav Domnitsky, will consider the case of activist Roman Sarkanych on a similar charge.
