A Polish diplomat was smuggling cigarettes

Chop customs officers found more than 6,500 packs of cigarettes with and without excise stamps of Ukraine in the car of a Polish citizen, the Main Office of the Ministry of Income reported.

 The incident occurred at the customs post "Dyakove" of the Chop customs. A car "Volkswagen Passat" with the registration number of the Republic of Poland arrived to the area of ​​customs control of Ukraine through the "green corridor". The vehicle was driven by a Polish citizen who provided the documents of an employee of the Legal Department of Foreign Service at the Consulate General of Poland in Lviv. These documents also contained the request of the Consul General "to provide multiple special and smooth passage across the border." However, the Polish citizen did not present a diplomatic passport.

 Currently, officers of the Chop customs are documenting the violation of customs regulations, the vehicle and cigarettes are seized until court decision.
