Ukraine needs 160 billion euros for adaptation and support of the economy during the transition period after the signing of the Association Agreement.
This was stated by the President Viktor Yanukovych in his interview to Ukrainian TV channels.
Yanukovych said that he is ready to sign the association agreement even in Vilnius.
"If you told me that you have a plan to create a stabilization fund, which will allow us to overcome the critical points, that Ukraine is facing today, and that they are secured with financing," – Yanukovych explained the conditions.
He said that Ukraine needs a very strong support.
"According to different estimates, different amounts. Each year – at least 20 billion. Every year. Not less. On the whole, by 2017, nearly 160 billion are needed" – Yanukovych said.
He also said that under the terms of the Association Agreement, Ukraine had been offered only € 610 million of technical assistance.
