The opening day of Ukrainian Culture started in the Czech Jihlava (PHOTOS)

On Thursday, November 7, the vernissage of Ukrainian culture opened in the administrative building of the Vysocina region, in Jihlava. Later, there was the performance of the Transcarpathian folk choir at the city theater.  The event was opened by the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Ivan Baloha and the Hetman of the Vysocina region Jiri Byehounek.

The Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council noted that almost all districts of the region are covered with the cooperation with Vysocina. During this time, a number of measures of humanitarian, cultural and educational nature aimed at deepening Ukrainian-Czech relations have been implemented. In October 2012, Days of Czechoslovakia were held in Uzhgorod, in May this year in Uzhgorod there was a festival of Czech cuisine and Czech culture. Partnerships between local communities of cities and villages, between institutions of education, culture, health and art collectives of Transcarpathian region and Vysocina and other regions of the Czech Republic have been established. In particular, they have signed the agreement on cooperation between Uzhgorod and Jihlava, between Mukachevo and Pelhrimov, between the village of Kolochava and the town of Semila, the birthplace of Ivan Olbracht.   

Afterwards, the awards were presented to representatives of the Czech and Transcarpathian parties for effective cooperation. Decorations were awarded to: the Hetman of Vysocina Jiri Byehounek, the Senator Milos Vystrichil, the head of the regional administration of Vysocina Zdenek Kadlec, members of the Standing Conference of Vysocina Jozsef Nedved and Vaclav Kadet.  On the Ukrainian part, decorations were award to Transcarpathian Regional Council Chairman Ivan Baloha, the manager of the executive staff of the Regional Council Mykhailo Popovich and the head of the "Viza" Foundation, a member of the Regional Council, Volodymyr Chubirko - the press service of the Regional Council informed.
