State Emergencies Service encourages travel agencies to cooperation

Cooperation with tourist firms, in particular registration of tourists with mountain rescue units, conclusion of contracts for rescue service in case of emergency is the key to safe winter recreation. This was discussed at the working meeting with mountain rescuers, which was held on November 15 by the Head of the Office of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region Miroslav SHCHERBEY.

Of course, they also talked about purely professional issues, including the maintenance of the rescue vehicles and equipment, the official report of the regional Office of the State Emergencies Service states.

For information: During last year's winter tourist season (from December 2012 to March 2013), specialists of the mountain rescue were called 478 times for ensuring safety and rescuing tourists during which they rescued 165 people and provided first aid to 145 injured persons. Unfortunately, in two cases the vacation turned tragic for three tourists.
