On Wednesday, November 20, at the regional administration, there was the presentation of the analytical report "Assessment of the dynamics of Hungarian and Slovak visa policy and practice in the consular offices in Transcarpathia." The report was presented by the president of the Center for Strategic Partnership Svitlana Mytryayeva. The presentation was attended by the Consul General of Slovakia in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova, the Vice Consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Endre Salipski, experts, academics, representatives of the media.

The VII phase of the of visa policy monitoring in consular offices was conducted in October-November this year. The study involved, in particular, the General Consulates of Slovakia and Hungary in Uzhgorod. The aim of the study is to analize the performance of the EU Visa Code, the Agreement on simplification of visa regime between the EU and Ukraine by consular offices, to define trends in the visa practice of those Consulates – the Press Center of the RSA reported.

Visa topics are especially relevant in Ukraine, in particular, issues relating to the issuance of Schengen visas. European integration processes, subject to certain conditions, could be a catalyst to simplify border crossing procedures for citizens of Ukraine.

– 41 countries have visa-free regime with EU countries. In particular, citizens of 5 Balkan countries have the right of visa-free entry to the eurozone. And the prerequisite for this was the implementation of conditions similar to those that Ukraine must implement – Svitlana Mytryayeva said.
