In Uzhgorod, a journalist was attacked, the suspect is arrested
According to the prosecutor of Uzhgorod Ivan Shtefanyuk, March 30, about 14:30 a 28-year-old Uzhgorod journalist called the police and reported a robbery.
The woman was walking in the "Bozdosh" park with her eighteen months old daughter, when an unknown man approached her and threatening with a metal screwdriver-like object, took away her money.
The head of Uzhgorod City Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, the deputy head of Uzhgorod City Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an Uzhgorod prosecutor and the investigative team immediately arrived at the scene.
The examination of the scene was conducted involving forensic experts and photographers. The woman described the attacker and also explained that she was working as a journalist at the "Tisa" channel, and currently is on maternity leave.
Following the measures taken, a 51-year-old attacker was arrested on suspicion of committing a criminal offense and recognized by the victim.
Investigators of Uzhgorod City Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region included the information on the said fact in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations, and initiated an investigation of the criminal offense under Part 1 of Art.187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (the attack with the intent to seize another person's property, accompanied with violence dangerous to life or health of the person who suffered the attack, or with the threat of such violence (robbery), - punishable with imprisonment for a term of three to seven years).
The prosecution of Uzhgorod ensured the control over the pre-trial investigation.
