At the session of the city council they will propose to review the fares in Uzhgorod

As uzhgorod.in already informed, in Uzhgorod, on March 29 there will be the regular meeting of the Uzhgorod City Council session.

Among the list of issues, one can mention, in particular, the 16th paragraph:

On the cancellation of the decision of the Uzhgorod City Council executive committee dd. 23.01.2013 № 25 "On tariffs for city passenger transportation."

We asked for comment from the deputy mayor who oversees the transport sector Yuriy Belyakov.

He informed that the issue is brought up not on the city hall’s initiative but by the request of the deputies from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc faction. As the official said, "it is done purely for populist reasons, and the draft decision does not mention any factors associated with the calculation of tariffs."

Recall that with the rise of fares by 30 kopiykas, the municipality promised to monitor the fulfillment of carriers’ obligations to improve the quality of transportation.
