AMC protected the “advertisement distributors”

In 2012, Transcarpathian regional territorial office of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine initiated seven cases of infringement of competition laws on outdoor advertising market. According to the press-service of the organization, municipalities of Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Beregovo, Vynogradiv, Rakhiv, Svalyava, Tyachiv and Chop did not follow the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising" and the Model rules for outdoor advertising, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine when adopting local Rules for outdoor advertising.

Thus, in these cities they created discriminatory conditions for the entrepreneurs operating on the outdoor advertising market. "As a result of the considered cases and the provided recommendations, legal interests of advertisement distributors regarding the determination of fees for temporary use of advertising spaces were protected, administrative barriers to entry into the market were eliminated" – quote from the notice.
