Uzhgorod firm with its concrete blocks made into the history of Ukrainian customs

May 17, for the first time in our country the Chop Customs implemented the requirements of Article 259 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, which provides for release of goods according to the declared customs regime under the preliminary customs declaration without presenting them to the customs authority.

The transportation of goods took place in accordance with the customs legislation. Despite the fact that the Customs Code came into effect in June last year, only now the program-information complex has been revised, which helped to clear the goods under the declaration of the "EA" type.

The decision to release goods without presenting them to customs officers shall be made solely by the customs authority which prepares the declaration. Such decision shall be made on the basis of the results of the risk analysis within a period not exceeding 4 working hours after the transportation of goods across the customs border of Ukraine. The goods in question – concrete blocks – have been imported from abroad by an Uzhgorod company. After the preparation and registration of the declaration in electronic databases of the customs office, in 15 minutes Chop inspectors cleared the goods through the customs border according to the customs regime chosen by the declarant.

The head of the "Uzhgorod-cargo" checkpoint of the Chop customs Oleksandr Bohash told about the benefits of this system. "For businesses, the convenience is in significant time savings for the transportation of goods from the customs border to the recipient, and thus, accordingly, the financial costs savings," – O.Bohash said.

By the way, this practice has been used for many years in the European Community.
