Transcarpathians are forced to buy medicines

A Transcarpathian doctor, who asked not to be named, said to Radio Svoboda that in pharmacies, where, according to the pilot project that provides state reimbursement for certain categories of drugs for hypertension, there is another list - a very specific, with commercial names of drugs.

Instead, the chief physician of the Ministry of Health Care Vasyl Netyazhenko claims that prescriptions, which people can buy medicines with, are prescribed based on the chemical formula, not the commercial name, so that patients could choose the drug by themselves.

"For example, a patient comes with a prescription and it says: bisoprolol. The patient comes in and asks for "Concor", but he or she will be offered something else, because this drug, although it is also bisoprolol, is not included in this supplementary list with commercial names". - the doctor from Transcarpathia says.
