The scandalous match in Uzhgorod was the last for Kostov as the coach of Lviv "Karpaty"

The day after the defeat of "Karpaty" in the match of the 27th round of the Premier League in Uzhgorod against "Hoverla", the Lviv team coach Nikolay Kostov filed with the club management a letter of resignation by mutual consent.

Recall, the match turned out to be extremely stressful and tough. There were also some incidents - fans of "Karpaty" caused a riot at the "Avangard" stadium, and one of the police officers ensuring order at the match was even hospitalized.

Having considered the request of the Bulgarian specialist who coached the team for 24 games (7 wins, 4 draws, 13 defeats, goal difference - 29:35), and given the standings of the Lviv club at the finish of the championship, the management of the club accepted the resignation of the coach and his assistants, the official club website reported.

Nikolay Kostov started coaching the Lviv team after the 3rd round of the Premier League, when it was on the 13th place in the standings.

Due to complicated standings of the team three rounds before the end of the championship, a clear goal was set before the coaching staff and the team - to keep a seat in the Premier League for the next season.
