Uzhgorod Prosecutor’s office organized the check on the fact of the meeting and the participation of public servants in it.
"May 14, the regional Internet sites published the information about a rally against fascism in Uzhgorod with video and photo stories, which recorded a massive participation of people in this event. Also it contains a comment from an Uzhgorod city council member in which he states that civil servants participated in the meeting" – the prosecutor of Uzhgorod Ivan Shtefaniuk said.
"I have reviewed all the news and stories on that and one of them recorded the facade of the prosecutor’s office in Uzhgorod. In this regard it is worth mentioning that the prosecution operates out of politics, only within the legislation" – the Prosecutor said. "And the first priority for the prosecution is to strengthen law enforcement and supervision over the observance of laws, which we do accordingly. The results of this check will be announced to the public."
