Old German car with forged body number was not allowed into Ukraine
May 15, around noon, a car "Volkswagen Passat", registered in Slovakia, made in 1992, arrived at the border and customs control point "Uzhgorod". It was driven by a citizen of Ukraine, which was heading from Slovakia to Ukraine. But during the necessary procedures for crossing the state border, the border guards had doubts about the car, since the driver was noticeably agitated. Thus, the border guards initiated a full identification of the vehicle together with representatives of the Customs office.
As a result of the measures taken to establish the legality of transportation of the said vehicle across the state border of Ukraine, it was discovered that the car was transported across the border with a forged number of the bodywork. The officers established that the identification number of the body had been cut out of another vehicle and attached to the inspected car.
The vehicle was seized, its value is currently being established.
