May 13, Mukachevo City Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region received a statement of a resident of Mukachevo who claimed that her 16-year-old grandson, in her opinion, had had sexual intercourse with her 11-year-old and 7-year-old granddaughters.
"Following the woman’s statement we initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 155 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – sexual intercourse with a person who has not reached puberty – punishable by restriction of liberty for up to five years, or imprisonment for the same term" – Mukachevo District Prosecutor Roman Pyatka reported. "However, according to preliminary results of the medical examination by an expert of the Mukachevo forensic laboratory, no signs of sexual intercourse were found."
Prosecutor’s office of the district ensure the control over the criminal proceedings.
