Ledyda courted to the guest from Finland. For investments
On Wednesday, May 22, the head of the region Oleksandr Ledyda met with the Finnish delegation, headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Ukraine Arja Makkonen. Also the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council Volodymyr Zakureny, heads of the regional administration departments.
It is the first time Arja Makkonen has been in Transcarpathia. So far in Western Ukraine she has only visited Lviv. The Finnish party has a great interest in the development of investment relations with regions:
- For two years we have visited many regions of Ukraine. First of all, those are regions and cities where there are companies with Finnish investments: Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv, Crimea. Usually, we come with representatives of our Finnish companies so that they can learn about regional proposals and presented themselves - Arja Makkonen said.
In turn, the head of the Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda expressed his dreams of attracting investments to Transcarpathia: "Our region is bordered by the states of the European Union. Every year the amount of foreign investment in the region is growing. Of course, they can not match the investment, for example, in the mining sector, as in the eastern regions. However, the proximity to the border with the European Union gives us a significant advantage in attracting investments. So, I am sure that in our region Finnish investors can find partners for cooperation."
